Mifare has typically two components, an antenna for sending and receiving information (in the form of signals) and an integrated circuit (IC) that processes and stores data. The IC contains a memory that is separated into segments and blocks with security mechanisms for access control. A user is needed to show the Mifare tag near the Mifare reader, a distance no longer than 10 cm. A connection is built between the card and the reader, then the card sends a code that recognizes the card selected. The communication between the card and the reader is extremely secured through encryption.

Mifare Contactless cards
Contactless cards come in standard ISO format or clamshell format. Most of the ISO format contactless cards are made from white PVC with a glossy surface, which allows the customer to customize the cards by printing. Additionally a magnetic strip (HiCo, LoCo) can be used for multiusage cards
Disc Tags
Disc tags are transponders, which are laminated between very thin foils. Foils can be made from different materials like PET, PETG or PVC and protect the transponders from dust, dirt and humidity. Disc tags are suitable for further assembling and labelling as they are easy to handle
Prelamined Inlays
Prelaminated inlays (prelams) are suitable for use in production of ISO standard cards. LUX-IDent uses a proprietary manufacturing process to produce its prelaminated inlay. Our prelams are very robust and have unequaled torsion / bending characteristics, extreme durability and optimized read / write performance.

The transponder is the heart of all our products. The transponder consists of a copper-wire antenna attached to an integrated circuit chip without further encapsulation
